Hydraulic brake light switch on the master cylinder. Has nothing connected to it.
What does this do and do I need it?
I also have a grey wire coming from the dash that has been soured to an earth.
Cheers

Is there just the one switch on the master cylinder?
If so it should act as your brake light switch. Do your brake lights work?
Some vans may have two switches and a also brake warning lamp on the dash. If master cylinder has been replaced they tend to have two bores for these two switches so if fitted to a van with one some people may just bung the extra hole with a spare switch not connected to anything.
