Early Dash Instrument Question

Hopefully quick one guys,

Please can you confirm whether the early (81) 2L CU Vans had an handbrake light on the dash?

I believe ours has been changed at some point leaving me with a Handbrake lens but no board/wires behind and no switch at the hand brake lever.

We also have a temp gage, which doesn't move, on the right hand side - I'm certain isn't correct as it is air-cooled.

Thanks,

You shouldn't have a handbrake light or temp gauge looks like you have a set of water cooled gauges.

Air cooled are like these.

Thank you Bigherb,

I have bought an early right hand side gage (fuel only) to replace the later water cooled version.

I've taken the instrument panel off the dash.
if I simply swap the two dials over, will there be any issues with tHe old dial's temp needle and warning light
circuitry not being connected to anything?

They are probably not connected anyway.

Good point, the temp warning bulb is, as it flashes at me when the ignition is turned.

I'm going to try and find a replacment housing as my one is cracked all over and been badly glued back together.

Thanks for confirming :-)
