hi everyone I have just noticed my accelerator pedal was loose and it seems to have split along the bottom.looks like this is going to have to be drilled out probably and if so what size drill bit and would I use self tappers to fix a new pedal back in place or can you use a flat head allen bolt and nut, dont have a rivet gun.cheers dave :ok

In answer to your question, I wouldn't recommend self-tappers as they will only enlarge/distort the holes. Rivet is absolutely the right way to do it. Better to borrow or find a local garage that'll rivet it in for you. Job is done then.

Nuts and bolts would be better than self tappers but you must use nyloc nuts or threadlock or they will soon work loose. You do not want an insecure throttle pedal out on the road.

You just want rivets that will fit snug. I can't remember what the stock size is - think its the bigger ones. I wouldn't buy one, not for that job. Try and 'test' a mates :D
