Every year about this time a debate begins about this. My tip? I just spent an hour using the simplest of ingredient as usual. Washing up liquid straight from the bottle and a soft sponge. Perfect result. No need for special cleaners or abrasives. Cost about 20p. Anybody coming to Bustypes will see the result.

I try to keep mine clean throughout the year so I do not have to struggle cleaning it,I do see some real horror stories of dirty roofs on vans when driving about north london, some people must have a hell of a job on their hands cleaning them

I had a heavy build up of algae on the pop top due to having to park it near a hedge in the shade. The top was very green so sprayed it with a moss and algae killer from B and Q. The moss turned a grey colour so I still had to rub it off with the reverse rough side of a kitchen sponge. I intend to spray it at intervals during the year to prevent build up.
