windscreen wipers: switch? fuse!
Posted: 25 Oct 2006, 15:07
While testing the windscreen washer system I wedged the stalk in the 'pulled' position, to send current to the washer motor.
When I gave up trying to fix the motor, I discovered that the windscreen wipers did not work. Not fast, not slow. No clicks, whirrs, nothing.
They've never been any bother before. I've taken the cover off, found that the LH connecter plug (not the indicator side, presumably the wiper side) was loosish, but pushing it on properly had no effect.
Can someone please tell me where I should be a'prodding with my 12V test lamp (I have no multimeter)? And am I going to have to take the steering wheel off? I'm hoping I've just bent a contact somewhere...
Can someone please help, it's hard work without wipers.[/i]
