Gearbox plug

Anybody got any ideas on how to remove a gearbox filler/oil level plug. It is seized in,and rounded off, so that the 17mm tool is turning, but not the plug. Ive tried lots of plusgas, and tapping it with a small chisel/drift,but that's just damaging the plug. Is it possible to tackweld a bolt onto the plug ? Would it help to warm up the ally gearbox casing around the plug? Any suggestions welcome!

Weld a 17mm nut or the tool into the hole?
you could take the box off and empty it via the fill plug

I meant weld a bolt onto the filler plug, which is seized in its hole,in order to get a socket onto the bolt. The drain plug under the box doesn't look too bad,but ive not tried to move that one yet.

yep thats what I meant, by hole I meant the hex recess in the plug
you can use a m10 nut with 17mm flats welded half in the hole half out or better weld the tool in, welding a bolt would work but it would want to be a large diameter bolt
sounds like a plan, may as well try the filler plug in case thats seized too.
