Zig / Leisure Battery Wiring.

I'm soon to be wiring up a new Auto Sleeper Zig unit I've had lying around for years.. However looking at the wiring diagram (
https://www.dropbox.com/s/88b6mgbix9m29 ... wiring.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) it seems silly to wire in both the vehicle and leisure battery into all the accessories (Both Aux and vehicle battery go into the Twin 10A Block) ..Surely if and when the leisure battery goes flat it will start draining the vehicle battery as well?

To be honest - from that pic you attached - the system would start to drain 'both' the leisure and the starter battery immediately!!
The wording on those 'options' (i.e. "Standard Option uses the vehicle battery only" and "Auxilliary battery with split charge option") boxes would seem to suggest that if you have the leisure battery then the connection from the starter to the Twin 10A block should not be there - get rid of it!!
An alternative would be to wire up as the picture suggests then just take out the 20A fuse that is between the starter and the Twin 10A block - that way if for any reason you do want to run those items off the starter battery then you can (just replace the fuse) ..... might be useful for one of those 'what if' situations.

no it isn't.
That's a standard control panel with no zig charger
The relay on the back is for the fridge when on the alternator

Ah ok, that's massive!
I was planning on using the relay for split charging the leisure battery not the fridge..
Any reason for you asking?

Autosleeper added a split charge relay in the engine bay or under the drivers seat... Maplin sell 70 amp split charge relays for a few quid. the fridge one is a little light on ability to cope with the power.
I asked because it's a common misconception that the AS control panel charges the battery when on hook up.
A "zig" unit is a company name for a battery charger.
You can hard wire a lidl leisure battery charger into the hook up, it costs £15.
The wiring diagram to wire a split charge relay in is in the club wiki.
There is also an Autohomes Karisma leisure electrics wiring diagram in the download section of "club stuff" (top of the page)

OK interesting! I didn't realise that Relay is for a fridge.. I've already got a split charge in the engine bay but as I'm swapping over from this Zip unit

and as the van is completely gutted as the moment I thought I would re-think / tidy up the wiring slightly..
So looking at the two wiring diagrams the essence of them are not too different; if you remove the connection from the vehicle battery to the twin 10A block like midlifecrisis said.
