Hot starting

Hi,
I have a 1990, 2.1l, water cooled T25 camper which does not like starting when hot. It turns over, but won't fire up (sounds a bit like a dead/low battery at this point) but once the engine has cooled, it starts no problem. It always starts from cold first time. It has a new battery and I have had the starter motor reconditioned.
Also, for some reason after a couple of hundred miles, the fan belt becomes slack and squeals for the first few minutes after starting the van up. The belts become worn very quickly and I have replaced it about 3 times in less than 2 years and have hardly done any miles.
Any help or suggestions for either problem would be much appreciated,
