Spare wheel carrier

I'm thinking of ditching it to save weight. Apart from not having a spare wheel are there any other draw backs. I would refit it if I went abroad to save hassle.

Someone on here recently posted that the spare wheel and carrier are part of the T25's crash resilience. I posted back "what about T25's that have an LPG tank where the spare was" but I don't think anyone commented.

I would not have thought any weight saving was worth it (by the way)

Jeez! That is some video!! I'd be keeping my spare wheel carrier where it is, and glad I don't have the LPG tank there!

Lots of modern cars don't and if I was abroad I'd put it back on. Might refit it anyway although I'm not that convinced it would add to resilience in a crash.

Me neither but wouldn't want to test it out particularly. I wouldn't rely on tyre weld either. :D Having serriously dented a wheel on a rock in Walers last year, I was glad the spare was there - even if smaller in diameter. :rofl
