Moving down the list, next job:

Windscreen washer has stopped working. No problems with current coming down the wire, so it's not the switch on the stalk.

I've had problems with the contacts on the motor before, have given them a bit of a clean, but no joy. The test lamp lights up fine, but not a sound from the motor.

There's also been problems with slime in the system, which was addressed with meths.

Any ideas?

A final test for the motor before you bung it is to connect it straight to the battery with some spare wire.....

I would imagine a second hand one is quite cheap

I had this problem a while ago, as the young reverend says connect it straight to a battery and get it spinning manually, then try and lubricate it with some thin oil. I did this about three times and mine kept seizing so i bought a new one in the end £27 (ouch) trouble with second hand ones is they're likely to be as bad as the one you've already got.

What's thin oil? WD40 etc? I've got some bicycle oil for summer use, contains teflon. And also winter bike oil, which is a bit thicker, so it doesn't wash off.

Any tips for getting the motor off the fluid tank? Does it indeed come off? Wondering if it may be a single unit.

The motor just pulls off the tank, the rubber seal holds it in place.
