Broken Solex 34 PICT Auto-Choke

Neither of my Auto-chokes worked on my Solex Twin carb, and today I finally got around to checking them out.
I've managed to fix the left Auto-Choke and that is now all sorted.
However the Right Auto-Choke is still buggered !
Looking at where the two chokes connect to the carb, the left choke looks like this:
Whereas the point where the right choke fits looks like this:
The Bimetallic section of both chokes look fine. But it looks to me that the right choke is missing the 'arm' that is pushed by the bimetallic spring ?
I've checked that the spring works when it's fed 12v, but I can't see anyway that the spring will connect to the actual Right Auto-Choke mechanism.
I had brought another full Solex twin carb off of E-bay to use as donor parts, but this also is missing this same arm on the right choke.
Am i right in thinking that the arm IS missing/broken, and that it is just a very unlucky coincidence that even the spare choke has the same bit broken ?
Has anyone had any experience of fixing these parts of a Solex ?

Hello,
Yup... the 'spring pusher' is broken..
Also I wonder if your fast idle cam is set right..
Here is how to do the rebuild..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=najLc9GlLJ0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
By the way the carbs are 32 PDSIT 2/3..
Not to be confused with the single..Solex PICT 34/4....(on 1600 cc engines)..
Parts can be got..
Hope this helps..
Cordialement,

Hi,
I am having the same issue with the 'Spring Pusher' on the right carb..
Have just received a replacement carb which has the same bit broken off - does anyone know if this part can be sourced anywhere. Not sure what the technical name would be but I haven't been able to find anything.
Thanks
Martin

I don't want to dash your hopes, but I really couldn't find anywhere to source a new 'spring pusher' part. It's actually the whole axle that the pusher is on that will need replacing and it is called the 'Choke Shaft' or 'Choke Arm Assembly'.
In the end I just waited for another carb to come up on E-bay for 'Spares or Repair'. It was just blind luck that the bit's I needed were all intact.
Fingers crossed that you get a little luck

Thanks for that, haven't had much of that thing they call luck...but at least I know what I'm looking for
Will keep searching, thanks again..

Couldn't a new piece be migged on and ground until it the right shape? I think thats what I'd do.

Looks like that may be the only option as it's slim pickings out there in terms of these carbs, beyond my skills but I know someone who could probably do that for me.
Thanks for that..
Cheers
