1.9 AAZ T25 Glow Plug switched live problem

Hi

I have been having problems trying to start my T25 since I accidently shorted a live wire whilst reconnecting the cig lighter.
Further to my last thread.

I can't get the van to start and seems to be a problem in the glow plug relay area.

The wire going into pin 86 has melted and there was less that 1v going into when it wasn't connected. I found another switched live and have tapped into that for the switched live for the relay. I have a constant live to the relay and I have tested the glow plug fusebar, replaced the relay and have fitted a new 50a strip fuse.

I have also tried starting it by placing a jump lead from the positive terminal on the battery to the glow plugs but to no avail.

When I check voltage from the the switched live i get 12v when it is not connected to pin 86. When it is connected I get under 1v.

When I switch the ignition to switched live I don't hear the relay click and there is nothing going to the glow plugs. I am wondering if I have fried the ignition switch and there isn't enough power going to the relay to throw the switch and open the fuel cut off solenoid. I have just bought a new ignition switch to fit.

Does anyone have a clue where the problem might be?

Thanks

Seems it was a bad switched live from the repair. I run a 12v live from the alternator to the fuel stop solenoid and got the solenoid and relay to click. Now I need to find a strong 12v switched live to wire it up to. Once I got it going it wouldn't stop when i took the ignition off so had to disconnect the switched live cable to it.

Anyone got any ideas or should i run a long length of cable to the horn fuse where it comes from in the first place, also what amps do i need because I feel that the cable i backed off wasn't strong enough?

SOLVED

I just ran a new wire off the back of the fuse box where the original came from and ran it down the body into the glow plug relay :D
