Be really careful before you take the plunge. There are less and less tin tops around now. Mine is. I sit down to cook, can open windows if I get hot.
Despite considering cuts/roofs/sunroofs/skylights (even one from a coach at one time) over 9 years, I have always been talked out of it. I've also seen campers with elevating roofs and the remnants of sunroofs still there! Its a very permanent cut that one. I tend to think if you're going to make any holes, either fit a good roof or don't bother. If you have to, just do the one in the middle as you can at least make a bigger hole later. The old saying "measure twice, cut once" definately applies but I'd say "think for a few years and then cut" may be more accurate.

Indeed ,uch the same as cutting side windows in, don't need two in the rear , and it you do the roof it is as good as permanent,I personally wouldn't

Would i be better off replacing the rotting sliding door for one with a window instead?

I want to keep it a panel van really so figured sunroofs would be less obvious.

Cripes, £175 though. I think if I was going to part with that much money for one I'd get some completely fandango electric one that possibly made the tea too.

Ill get some pictures of the door tomorrow along with the other bits of rust. On another topic, who makes the best watercooled front lower repair panel. I would LOVE a full fabric roof!

there are one or two genuine panels out there but not in stock with any of the uk sellers noor many of the german ones, i have a pattern one going sppare, its the same as all the other ones currently out there, the curvature is wrong but i am able to realign it so you wouldnt have an issue with that aspect , have a read through the thread to see what im talking about

I spotted those issues in that thread. That's what made me think twice before using a jk panel as i have vouchers from Christmas. How much would you want for the realigned pattern panel mm?

If you would like to pm me a price for the panel it would be much appreciated. Is there only really one manufacturer or new panels then? Just different suppliers.
