Hi all,
Just a quickie - what's the tdc mark on the flywheel that can be seen through the bell housing? I've been looking around here and google but can't really get a definitive answer.
Its on a jx BTW.
Cheers, leigh

Haha, sorry - I know what it is for, I just don't know what it looks like! I've found references to an arrow, a line, a '0', a peg etc.
Maybe should have mentioned that bit!

l-v-l you want the pointer on the bell housing to line up with the bottom of the v [on the clutch cover plate]

Not got a picture have you/anybody? I've had the flywheel round and can't see another v. Closest I've got is a tab like the picture I've attached.
Cheers,
Leigh

Leigh, there are two of those tabs either side of the vee cut, rotate it a bit further and you will see it

Ah, so the v is kind of cut into the face of the flywheel rather than coming 'out' of it. Makes sense - will have another look tomorrow afternoon when I get up (the joy of nights!)

The V is cut into the clutch cover plate and not on the flywheel itself. There are dowels on the plate that ensure that the cover can only be bolted to the flywheel in the correct position.
