Hi All

Thinking of buying a Drive Away Awning for the bus.

Can anybody recommend a good make. I want something that's pretty stable in the wind

We have khyam awning,They are easy and quick to erect and are very sturdy

Khyham Awning.
I am looking for one myself.
having down enough research and seen/used others.
These are the quickest/easiest to put up/take down & are very sturdy in the wind (provided it is pegged out properly)
My Choice, unless some-one comes up with anything better?

Khyam with the external frame. Easy to put up & take down. Try a few different spellings when you search.

That looks good, But how does it connect to the van?
have you used it much, do you have any problems on camp sites with it being a 'tent not a awning'?

It does'nt connect to the van but you pull up tight to the side so there's no need to use any fittings which means you can just pull straight away and drive straight back up to it. That for me is the beauty of it with it being inflatable no poles to scratch the van.hopefully going away this weekend I will take some pics and post them. Not used it at all yet just set it up on the drive as for the camp sites I can't see a problem as when its next to the van it just looks like a awning. Hope this helps it really is easy and comes down in seconds.

We've got a Khyam as well and very pleased with it. Quick to put up and take down by one or two persons and pretty stable. Spare parts readily accessible the last time I looked.

They come up on here from time to time and you can bag a bargain.

The inflatable ones do look good, however I'm not sure how stable they will be in a strong wind?
If you do make it away this weekend you can let us all know, That's if your not blown away, weathers not looking too good here!!

Another vote for Kyham, had ours for about six years and not had any problems and it's been used in all weathers. It more than doubles the living space without the inner bedrooms fitted.

Very Nice, Did you have the van sprayed to match!?

Use a khyam as well highly recommended. I also bought two
storm straps that have ensured the awning stays put in gale force 7 storms in Weymouth and Woolacombe. Search fleabay or your local camping shop.
