drill a hole
push rev counter into hole
run some wires
twist some wires together
start the engine
sit on the drive for about 10 minutes reving the engine and watch the revcounter go up and down

It says it's a blue LED readout
This series is fully electronic with a blue digital LED readout
but that appears to have an analogue needle, plus one hopes you can rotate it so the dial is not "sideways"
I don't buy from China after having had some truly terrible tat in the past

Well the £7 rev counter arrived today, it works and is fitted. It took all of 90 mins to fit and wire it.

I can see the merit in blasting chinese products but not ALL of it is bad and you try buying anything in the high street that ISN'T chinese now. Kids shoes are my biggest complaint - they last four weeks at most. Some chinese stuff (and I side with Ghost on this) can be downright lethal - particularly small chargers and batteries.
However, I see no reason why they can't build a reasonably accurate one for that price. Just check it against a known good one if you want to be sure. Tempted to get one myself to be honest. If its duff, £8 isn't the biggest loss in the world.
Worth noting that when you open some well known brands - guess what, chinese parts inside. Lottery I guess.
One question though, does it only work on its side or can you rotate the dial?

Cov, The gauge rotates in the pod. I too thaught £7 is not the end of the world and paypal protects you.
It seem accurate, warm tick over was about 900rpm.
