I know I may be mad but I want to repair my on board 240v charger. I think the coil over temperature sensor has failed ( if I short it out the charger works ) does any one know what temperature these are set to work at ?
Thanks in advance
Andrew

You could just go with a good guesstimation, 90 degrees C perhaps would be a safe bet ?

As you have probably already discovered, the BBB hasn't got any active cooling fan and does get pretty warm in operation. To ensure that things don't get to 'melting point' a thermal fuse was built into the circuit as per link.
The common failures on these are: the small glass fuse and or, the thermal fuse..both cost pennies to replace.
The supplied link tells you everything you need to know.
