What size are any of you using as oil cooler in top grille section of a T3 for an AAZ?

Currently have a brickwerks one in lower grille but want to move it up top but too big! What size have any of you used ? Presuming not as many rows but wider to compensate.

Ideas of what you gays have used/what works please :ok

I wouldnt worry about it fitting to well mate, it looses so much heat through the hoses front to back it might not be to much of a problem. Its a massive surface area the oil is traveling through from front to back.

Cheers bro.

Got a 25 row brickwerks cooler but not sure if it will fit in top grille without a tape and trip to unit.

If its too big you think a 10 or 13 row 230mm wide one will suffice then?

Second Q (sorry!) if the ones aren't long enough , can I use hose joiners or will the pressure drop too much and I have to run all new hoses?

Lloydys charge cooler set up/rad is going in bottom grille :ok

My 25 row oil cooler didn't fit in the top grill, would have had to have cut into the fresh air intake.
I would say you would be fine with joiners, no different than so done using elbows.

What size oiler cooler rad are you using Jed and where is it fitted? How were your temps in Morocco?

I'm going to be adding an oil cooler in the next few months.

Elvis, my oil cooler is from a Vauxhall Frontera (sport) i think. and it fits in the top grille lovely.

Its really long and narrow, rather than square like they normally are. I picked up mine in a scrappy for £10.

Tom, whatever cooler set up you end up going for, make sure you get a stat in the take off plate around the 100ºC mark. After chatting with Mario i found out that the 80ºC stat that was in my take of plate would be too cool.

The 110ºC one that is in there now seems perfect, i've been watching my oil temps closely while away in Morocco and you could see when the external cooler was doing its work. Kept everything running very constant even during really long drawn out climbs and tough sand driving. :ok

Just been on a motor factors website and they are 480 x 90 x 32, looking bang on for the money :ok
