Oil cooler pipe Q?!

One for the hydraulic oil lube flow engineers experts pressure physics thingymebobs! 
Got an oil cooler in lower grille, want to move it to upper grille. Oil pipes might just be long enough as have a lot of slack BUT if they are not , can I use metal hose joiners to extend the hose length or this is a no no as it affects pressure , increases/decreases it, affects flow etc etc
Don't really understand pressure/flow dynamics so easier to ask someone clever.
