tie rod inner joint

Hi guys

replaced my ns upper wishbone bushes yesterday as have had a knocking/tapping from under the front passenger seat over rough road surfaces.

swapped them over yesterday, all spot welded and camber angle set back as before removal.

road tested today and still have a similar noise but not as bad as before, have had a check over all ball joints and the tie rod ends are ok, minimal play to wheel bearing.

the only movement i can pick up is at the steering rack/box end of the tie rod within the boot.

is the inner tie rod joint a likely cause of this ?

if so haynes recommends removal of the box/rack to change the rod, is this the case ?

cheers for any info

I had knocking from mine - it was the steel spacer bushing being worn and loose at the top of the shock absorber that was causing it. Made a new one.
Not very clear pic:

I had changed mine and that didn't stop it so I got new shocks and discovered the spacer wear.
