Hello, has anybody used wallpaper or vinyl on their roofs? I don't want to carpet it and the boarding needs covering. I thought about painting it but was looking for more imagination!
By the way I mean internal roof (ceiling)

On another van I once owned ( A customised Bedford CF "passion wagon" ) I glued very thin polystyrene foam onto the bare roof, (using a trade sized tub of Epoxy glue and a "scraper" tool). I glued some paper backed Hessian (like sack material) wallpaper to that (like this = LINK). I think I used white PVA glue for that bit of the job. All in all it was an easy job. It looked fine, insulated that van well, did not suffer from condensation and lasted for 5+ years until I sold it. Hope that helps.

PS, nowadays you can get "foam safe" impact adhesive that might be better / easier to find than trade size tubs of Epoxy glue ;)

I thought about either O/S maps or pictures from magazines (landscape arty MTB ones nothing saucy). I think it makes the van a bit more individual and specific to what you like. All stuck down with PVA and then a PVA wash over the top. I guess there a potential fire hazard to contemplate.

You mention boards in your post. Could you tell me how they attach in the van? I have a panel van and currently working out a way to ply line and carpet the top.
