loss of power t25 1.6d

hi new on here so can anyone help, driving the other day and suddenly power seems to come and go in all gears cant get over 40mph then it will drop to about 25 -30 ? seems fine when just idling not missing or smoking . i got no idea whats going on HELP!!!!!!!

Can you see any air bubbles in the clear plastic fuel line in the engine bay? If so you could have a tiny split in the fuel line sucking air in, or a clogged fuel filter. It's worth checking the fuel filter anyway as it could be fuel starvation. Also check the air filter in case it is clogged.
(Just my 2p, as we had the above problem in the summer while in france in our 1.9d, ours was a tiny split in the fuel line).

Thanks for the advice will check the fuel filter ,have some air bubbles in clear tube
Will check for splits in pipes cheers

If there's air bubbles in there it's being sucked in somewhere and that will cause the symptoms you describe - ticks over OK, but loses power when you increase the revs. If the fuel filter looks OK, might be worth getting the clear pipe replaced just to rule it out. The split in mine was only just visible, right by the fuel pump.
