Im in the process of replacing the clutch slave cylinder on my 1986 1.9 petrol,DG engine caravelle. To remove the cylinder I had no choice but to cut through the pipe where it meets the slave cyl.(the pipe is the plastic white one which goes from slave to chassis just to the left/front of gearbox).Ive now managed to remove the pipe union/fitting from the old slave cyl in the vice. Is it possible to push the fitting back into the pipe,or am I going to need to replace the plastic pipe. Im not trying to go for false economy, but it looks like itll be hard to get to the next coupling in front of the gearbox as I cant get the van onto my ramps due to no clutch/drive .Any help/tips appreciated.

you don't need to drive onto ramps it's far easier and safer to jack the vehicle and lower it onto the ramps, place them in opposite directions and the van can't roll off.

your clutch and brake top up reservoir are the same so you really don't want a clutch fluid leak

it needs to be flexible copper is no good

Yes you can. I've done it. You'll need a hot air gun to warm the pipe up first and it is a very tight fit. I put a small pipe clamp on as well - just to be sure it couldn't leak.
