Who was looking for some of this?
4 - 5 months ago maybe..some one was very desperate and had tried everywhere without success.
The guy has 4 X 4120mm lengths. Just thought this might be of use as it is becoming increasing hard to source.

I got mine from VW heritage (£20/4m) when I replaced mine - they were the only stockist that I found that had the correct profile, all the rest- A Schofield etc had a different profile.

Hey I don't know what the situation is like now for supply but I do remember that this guy (whoever he was) had tried everywhere and that included VW Herritage & Schofields.

Schofields and Just Krappers have the wrong profile for original seals they appear to be for different rubbers. It took me ages to get that correct one as most suppliers don't show the profile in their blurb. I did mine 4 or 5 months ago also.

Indeed....front and rear profile is different to the side window profile (one having a flat face and the other almost hemispherical), however, the insert profile (the bit of the trim that goes into the rubber) is the same. The trims are interchangeable and besides...the rounded type is by far the more common. I would even go as far as to say, show me where to get the flat fronted variety (in stock) because it's almost impossible to get.

that's a challenge for someone.......in stock remember and from someone who can actually acknowledge the difference, as most vendors don't even know there are different types....Been there seen it, done it and asked the questions but interested to see if others come to the same conclusion.

Gunzl, both types in stock

do I win a prize?
When I had my screen done I got my trim from Heritage, it was the right (flat) profile but too short

when I phoned them about it, the answer they gave me was "yeah that's the right part it fits MK1 Golfs and T25/3s " when I pointed out there might possibly be a difference in size between the two

their reply was "use two and two joiners that's how they came from the factory" I put the phone down at that point. Numpties

Mine from Heritage were about 6 inches too long - maybe they had a short delivery.
