First of all, how are the panels on the van fixed to each other? Are they a bolt on, spot weld, welded or chewing gum?

The blow heater, how powerful should it be, mine has three settings, quite crap, slightly crap, just plain crap. How does this compare to other peoples?

I also have the crap heater configuration. Having said that its an awful lot better than the non-existant heater I had in my last bay (and the rust holes in the floor of the cab didn't help either).

my camper has, hot bloody hot, and equatorial. however my caravelle has the same crap option as yours installed. Iguess they are all different. May be crud in the heater matrix or an airlock

panels are held together by spot welds or rust

heater in mine is more than adeqate no complaints

Plenty o heat, but the power of the blower is a bit crap, I was just wondering if this was common with the T25's or if mine was clarted up wi' crap.

Well if it's any help my DG blows pretty good on full.

Does it sound like it's running ok, just little air coming out, or does it not make much in the way of "fast fan noise"

Perhaps check the vents are actually opening fully when the lever on the dash says full ?

If not that, you could try temporarily hard wiring the fan to the battery to see if there is a poor conection somewhere robbing it of power.

My fan squeeks though, and apparently greasing the motor bearings involves a major dash out job -

mines perfect (2lt a/c) just renovated heating system. i now have lovely hot air rushing out my vents. ( see heating topic )

Ah yes lotta noise, lotta dust when on cold.
Switch it to hot, lotta noise, no dust, no heat either.

mheh, justkampers sell a thingy that plugs in the ciggy lighter and produces warm air to demist windows, so if I am bothered I might try that. Otherwise the goold old sleeve wipe seems to do the trick as well

I wouldn't bother, they are rubbish and don't work ( sorry JK )

yep, waste of money..unless you're happy with 1/4 square inch of window demisted. truth is that for an electric heater to actually do anything in an icey van, it'll need to be 1000watts. check a domestic hairdrier, it'll be 1000 - 1500 or so. at 12 volts, this needs c.100 amps, which takes fat wires & big batteries, to say the least.

Aye - and you can use the same analogy to guesstimate the wire and power requirements (including the speaker wires) for a big car stereo power amp !!

How many times have I seen a ( so called ) 1000W amp fed by 5 amp red and black !!
