i have seen some pics of a van with a conversion made from light weight alloy/ plastic board and i wanted to find out some more info
preety sure it was a t25 syncro and it could have been a big conversion company as well
any help with this area of conversions would be greatly appreciated

The 'Ali' panels are a composite panel called dibond. You can get it in a million colours etc very common in shop fitting , signage etc

still not what i have seen im sure it was an old t25 but it may have been in the states
i think they used dibond but it was made like a trad side cupboard set up
i wanted to find some corner pieces and trim to fit to dibond

i like the idea of the tube connectors but they all add up to a lot cos you need loads

If You google "Dibond fabrication manual" there is a pdf showing various fabrication methods, you can also get wallboard jointing and cornering profiles
which will work well with the 3 mm thick sheets
I would point out that there are several grades, the principle difference in the grades is the thickness of the aluminium skin, you will need a fabrication grade as opposed to a flat panel grade if you wish to fold corners etc. Dibond and renobond are good products and priced accordingly, the cheaper chinese versions , marketed under different names are generally poor quality . The modules highlighted in a previous post in the t5 are essentially box aluminium frames , with flat panels added,. and with the cost of the jointing corners etc will work out expensive and probably not much lighter than voringer lightweight ply. The principle advantage would be resistance to water/beer.

i ahve found a cheap source for hoarding panels but as you say they have thin ally skins which you can just about get away with bending and they are not rated for continuos exterior use
if anyone has a link for ally edging and profiles that would be great
is there a cheaper alternative to vohringer ? just trying to weigh up all the options !
