Hello,

A bit of advice please... :)

I have acquired an Eberspacher 24 volt diesel night heater..

for which I made up a 'module' to fit inside the kitchen unit..

At the time I misread the power requirements. and bought a small adjustable unit to run the heater off a 12 volt aux battery..

This was only 4 amps max.. normal running 2 amps. :(

Of course it did not work.. as the 'power up' requirement of the heater is up to 10 amps.. dropping to 2 amps when running..

When I jury rigged the heater to 2 12 volt car batteries.. hey presto.. the heater works fine 8)

So I've been looking on 'that' well known auction site..

and there seem to be huge price differences..

eg:

http://www.powerstream.com/dc24.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... at 159$ plus shipping..

but then there are these:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/DC-12V-to-DC-24 ... 08995...at" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; 25$ with free postage.

I made up a control box from an old computer power supply.. so there is a cooling fan..

What do you think.. :?:

Cordialement,

:ok

Oldie but Goodie is your man...I remember several posts where he talked exactly about this very same thing..using a cheaper 24volt unit because they are generally more widely available....on a 12volt van.

I'm sure he will be along soon....or drop him a PM, he is the expert on here.
