I did mine with the back box off as this just seemed to get in the way. I undid the box clam p bolts and the exhaust joint to the box then slid it out to the drivers side. Then I supported the engine on an axle stand and undid the 3 bolts that hold the rear casting (bolts to the engine mounts) to the block. I then undid the support bar mounts and took the bar off complete with mounts and casting. I changed the mountings but left the bolts all a little loose until I had it bolted back on to the engine and the chassis At this point I tightened everything up and put the back box on. People tell me that you can do this with the box on? you probably can but it was easier for me with it off. (I have the later exhaust that bolts to two brackets also bolted to the mounting casting. The earlier type where the exhaust holds it on I havent a clue about. The tinware gets in the way as well!!!

You'll need a small (hobby sized for want of a better word) 13mm socket on a flexible joint to get to some of the nuts when refitting. As suggested, don't tighten mounts up on bar fully or nothing will line up and you'll be cussing like a cussy thing..

Support the engine 'spread the load with a piece of wood'. undo the top nuts, ideally with a 13mm flexi socket.
As an example only: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gearwrench-80 ... 20d29f8642" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Undo the 4 outer 13mm bolts on the engine support bar....2 of mine sheared but they are pretty standard high tensile so just replace with new. I didn't remove my silencer.....I'm sure there are a couple more things I've forgot...

Drop the bar with the mounts.

Well that tool was an example of what you need...a 3/8th drive flexi 13mm socket..that one is in the US so probably not the best place to buy from if you want to do the job anytime soon.
