Hahaha, just drove my van to get fuel. Ended up on main road chocka with rossers and football fans on way to the local ground.
The sight of them all looking at my van with its newly fitted Andreas springs. Even the police were goggling it. One might think they'd never seen a tricked out lifted camper before. I suppose it distracted them for a few minutes from drinking and thinking up trouble.

OE shocks. Had them on the shelf for a year. Mind you, the Andreas springs had sat for two years. The old shocks were in shocking condition - the outer sleeves were like net curtains and one of them made scraping sounds as it operated.
Ride is firmer and minor rattles from the kitchen have increased in volume a little. Ride height not changed substantially as there was a 30mm spacer all-round previously that is now gone. However, its early days as only done a couple of hundred motorways miles on them. Will know better in early Jan after I've put ~700 miles on them, 200 of which on twisty, hilly roads.

Baz - you made me laugh. If only it was true, but she wasn't there.

I took a tortuous route home including a detour and stop at a shop, all designed to lose the tail.

It was an interesting afternoon on the Gloucester Road Patrick! Full on fisty cuffs outside the Tinto lounge at 4.30pm followed by the arrival of about 100 policeman, horses and dogs. A stand off ensued with a dozen nutters holed up inside Tintos. Be more interesting to see how your van rides with the OE shocks compared to mine with the Trailmaster. :D

Well, I'm well pleased with the new ride, on road at least. After 400 motorway miles and 300 A and B roads in Cumbria and West Yorkshire I can certainly feel an improvement. Handling is tauter. I just need a better engine to keep up with the road curves now.

How does it run now it doesn't have 25° of idle advance and fuelling has been put back to a sensible level?

Not noticed an improvement yet, but lots of the driving was in 3rd gear to keep the revs high so I could ascend the hills without dropping into 2nd and a snails pace.
