Hello.

I'm watching A Pair of H4 Ultra Power Xenon Ice blue Bulbs on eBay. Does any one know if these are any good? the description says that there is no need to alter the vehicles wiring but I've read on here that you have to upgrade the headlight wiring to upgrade the bulbs? Or is that a different type of bulb?

Thanks
Aaron

Depends on whether they are illegal 'wattage' .....normal are 55/60watts (dip/full) so if they are advertised as higher 80/90 lol etc then they will draw more power down those ageing cables/switches & connections...not good.

To be honest...you won't beat some standard wattage Osram Nightbreaker unlimited H4's or even the slightly older PLUS version.

Thanks Martin. So I can just plug swap my current bulbs for these without risk of damaging my wiring?

Yes..for the ones I've linked too, simple swap.

As a side note** some of these unbranded headlamp bulbs are so poorly made that the filaments within the bulb are not accurately positioned. As headlamp pattern relies on pin point positioning of the filaments (within 1 - 2mm) these poor quality bulbs often upset the beam pattern to the point of MOT failure.
Branded bulbs from Phillips/Osram/Hella/Bosch, conform to very stringent production standards so you are pretty certain NOT to have this kind of issue.

The Osram Nighbreaker 'unlimited' bulbs are quoted as being as much as 110% brighter than standard but only use the same power...I would take these claims with a pinch of salt, however, there is no doubt that they do make a significant difference.......I would highly recommend them.
