Ive been trying to figure out how to best heat the van up especially in the winter without going to the expense of installing a heater from the gas bottle, and to help with the problem of condensation as well.
I found a link on youtube relating to heating a van in winter and have tried this method out in my Living room which is much bigger than the Van and works really well.

Il be trying it in the van 2mrw WITH a Carbon Monoxide detector first to see if it goes off, il be using 10 tealights which is way more than necessary AND all windows will be closed and vents shut to make double sure, looked at other types of heating like a log burner but reckon it'd be too hot for the van. Will be posting a reply on this thread 2mrw with my findings.

The fact that you are using it with a Carbon Monoxide detector surely answers your own question.

And people get paranoid about leaving the fridge on overnight when on gas....and the fridge flame is about the same size as ONE tealight

True but it still burns the oxygen from inside of the van.

I realise both CO2 and CO can be dangerous in confined or airtight spaces but I also think people over react to the dangers when some of the sources are so miniscule. Consider the CO2 a family of four would belt out overnight.

Adequate ventilation is the solution as recommended by/for those domestic bottled gas fires you can buy

i know what you mean, and to a extent your right. But it is not a clever way to heat your van. People tend to get complacent with it all, end up shutting windows, falling asleep ect. I'd rather boil some water and take a hot water bottle if i couldn't afford a proper heater

yes I know what you mean but it's not actually cold when you're in bed; it's when you're just sat there chatting or playing cards etc. I don't know why people run heating when they're all tucked up no matter what the source

each to their own decision(s) I suppose, I used a parabolic radiant heater in my old van, just allowed for ventilation and NEVER left it running when sleeping
