I have just purchased a roof mounting solar panel. Does anyone have any ideas for securing the brackets down without screwing into my roof. My only one is sticking it down with a compound. Any tips and what compound to use would great. I really don't want to see my new panel flying off the roof...

How are you going to get the wires in without drilling the roof?
One hole is no different to 5 if you seat it/ them correctly ...... Unless you plan to take it off and sell either it or the van, what's the difference ?
Personally I wouldn't glue a framed solid panel on ......
What panel did you get ? That is my next step .....

I've got mine stuck down with Sikaflex, been on for a couple of years without problem. I wouldn't drill any more holes than necessary

Professional fitters just use polyurethane adhesive I have been reliably informed - so have I on my Merc. I admit to using brackets on the VW as it is mounted at an angle though.

Mine is 4 coach bolts and the same sealer as above, mine is flexible panel, with hindsight I might have just used two bolts on the front, the sealer seems to keep it flat quite well.

Thanks again guys, siloflex, brackets and feed the cable through the rear vent. Some times you just need someone else to it does work, tried and tested...
