Bundeswehr gun holder to fit highlift jack?

I have 2 gunholders from the german army I bought at an overlandshow once. I was wondering if I could attach a highlift jack to my van with these. Since I do not own such a jack (yet) I was wondering if anyone has used these as well. If not does anyone have the dimensions of the jack, of the base that would go into the clamp.

The inside dimensions that will fit in the clamp are 4 cm x 5,5 cm appx.

Rob.

I think I removed the remnants of some of those from my Iltis.

I just mounted my hi lift on my rear bumper Rob to get some weight off the roof when away. I will probably fit it back on the roof when I am not in overland mode but I used three of these, http://campervanculture.com/shop/origin ... st-clamps/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that leaves a spare one to mount a torch or something inside the vehicle.

This picture shows it mounted with just two Quick Fist clamps but I went for an extra one because of the weight being up one end. It is a cheap and very easy way of mounting a high lift to a Syncro, took about 15 minutes to do and because they are rubber the jack doesn't rattle at all.

Would love some of these. OEM hardware that can be reused is always good.

They are out of the man hbv vehicles. Door mounted items. Very cheap and easily accessible.

They are NATO gun clips for long barrelled weapons

I used two bits of M12 studding, heavy spring washers, and wingnuts. Cheap, simple and effective, the jack is rigidly clamped to avoid movement and rattling. True it involves some loose bits but they're easily kept in the trouser pocket until the jack is re-mounted. I think the rifle clamps are designed for a specific size, anything else wouldn't be securely held in place. The advantage of the rubber ones CVC have is they adapt to any size item.
