Cool, so a set of axel stands should do the trick
thought it might need to go higher

Mine was only about 6 inches higher than usual. The higher you go the further to fall. I used an old fence post across the bay with a ratchet strap to lower it. My ample belly was touching the sump when I went under to undo the exhausts

Where are you going to put the axel stands?
I'm my opinion ramps are more stable and safer
You don't have to drive up them jack up and lower on one each way and it can't roll off

Did think it'll never have enough power to get up the ramps!
I might just jack it up onto ramps. They do seem alot safer and I could just wheel the engine out.

I used ramps. They are 250mm high. 1.9dg came out easy but the ej22 had less than 1mm clearance going in. I used an engine hoist to drop onto a jack but have just used a jack before with no probs.
