How hot is your heater?

Hi
I am a new T25 owner, and in my opinion, the hot air that comes out of the air vents, isn't particularly hot, warm I would say.
How hot should it be? I'd like it to be hotter, The inside of the van is quite a big space to heat. Maybe there's a problem with mine.
Also, I have two vents that only seem to give out cold air. The ones in the dashboard, nr the drivers and passenger doors (not the quarterlight vents, they give out warm air), and the vents at the rear edge of both doors. Are these supposed to be linked up to the heater, or just cold air vents?

Those vents at the bottom of the front door cards seem to be for
extracting air - they don't connect up to the vent channel, but there are vent slots outside the rubber seal on the leading edge of the door. When the van is moving this leading edge is in a low pressure area due to the movement of air around the front of the vehicle, so this sucks air out of the cabin via the door vents. That's the theory anyway - I read it
here. This seems to have the added benefit of creating air flow within the door to help dry out any condensation or rain water in there. Must work brilliantly - how many T25 doors do you ever see with rust along the bottom edge?

i have an 85 hightop 1900cc petrol,and when we tootling down motorway my wife sits in the back and she tells me to turn heater off as its to hot.

Mine belts heats out.
The dash grills immediately next to the cab doors were not linked to the heater in earlier vans. Later vans they are.

Sounds like it could be low coolant level. A lukewarm heater is the early warning sign (half fill of air). Bleed the radiator first, once you've got the motor warmed up and the stat has opened (bolt on offside end of rad header)
Make sure that your heater cable (actually a thin rod) is opening the valve fully. Take the spare wheel out from under the front, and slide under head first and face up (use the clamshell as a backrest) and you will see the heater pipes coming from over your right shoulder and up to the valve. It's a black thing with the cable clamp on top (spring clip) they can slip/cable can get kinked/valves can seize.

Toastie thanks in the front. When it's very cold outside the heater starts warming nicely after about two minutes driving. I only use the fan to clear the screen when it's really cold. The rest of the time just moving pushes plenty of heat through the heater matrix. However, I don't take anybody in the back on journeys over an hour when it's really cold. That's not fair.

Thanks for the advice. I thought it used to be hotter, so could be lack of coolant. I had that problem before in a Peugeot, forgot that could be the cause. I'll take a look at the weekend. Thanks again.

I just bled the radiator and there was no air in it. I checked the flap by taking the spare wheel out and the flap was fine. The heater pipes were hot, but I still don't think much of the hot air temp though. Admittedly as I was stationary I had to turn the fan on setting 2 or 3 to get some air through but Ideally It'd be hot and I couldn't have my hand in for long. It's nowhere near that. Am I being unrealistic in my expectations?
I'm assuming that to get the heater matrix out I've got to take the dash apart. I need to oil the heater blower motor anyway so I'll save them up for a weekend in the near future.
