seen a couple of 2.1 petrol engines for sale recently and was wondering if this is a straight forward swap to use with my 4 speed gearbox.also are the looms compatible with each engine or do they need modifying/replacing.anything thing else needed for conversion,cheers dave

carb and manifold are required from the 1.9 and fit straight on with no alterations.
IMHO if you can keep the injectors that's the better way to go, better economy and as quite as a quite thing

A DJ with a DG carb and lpg is a very popular and sensible solution, you get the power of a DJ without the complications of the injection system. It's a straight swap into a late cooling system DG van ... you haven't included your van's age in your signature

easy peasy then...

The difference is remarkable, it makes the van so much more drivable..gradients no longer sap the power.

The DJ is just a long stroke version of the DG.

Although mine runs at 5 degrees BTDC and on normal unleaded you can run at 10 deg BTDC and run the Super U

No mate I did mean valve timing..and forgot to mention ignition
opening and closing degree times are different
DG..
Inlet opens. 5° BTDC (1° from 01/86)
Inlet closes. 34° ABDC( 30° from 01/86)
Exhaust opens. 38° BBDC (36° from 01/86)
Exhaust closes. 4°ATDC (8° from 01/86)

DJ
inlet opens. 10° BTDC
Inlet closes. 48° ABDC
Exhaust opens. 50° BBDC
Exhaust closes. 0° ATDC

is anybody running twin carbs on a dj? the what's? the why's? and the where from? would be brilliant. and do you have an increase in economy? or is it cheaper to burn tenner's in your log burner..........thank you for any info or pointers

A member here was running Delorto DRLA 38's

stunning sound..
stunning power..
driven with care it returned 26-28 iirc
but who drives with care when those babies light up the cylinders
