Hi,

Decided I would take a drive in the van today but noticed there was apool of what looks like brake fluid. and the I have put my had at the bottom of the brake where the pedal is and it feels wet. I have checked the fluid reservoir and it has plenty in but also there was a little on the top of it.. no maybe I spilt some when pouring it. But not enough o soak all the floor.

any suggestions where I should start.... is this brake fluid or clutch fluid.... or both ...?

They use the same reservoir. It could be either master - although the brake pedal being wet does kinda exonerate the clutch master - or it could be the reservoir itself.

You say that you may have spilt some whilst pouring... When and why did you pour?

Well I think it was the brake pedal will have another look.

I just topped it up a couple of months back when I got it as it looked low. Ive never noticed it leaking before though

Much more likely to be the clutch master cylinder than the brake. The reason for this is the layout, the brake master cylinders 'seal side' resides inside the brake servo, so leaks into the servo itself. The clutch runs down the pedal onto the floor.
The other difference is the clutch can't completely drain the reservoir if it leaks, as it's 'take off' is half way down the reservoir...it is designed like this for safety.

Warning light switch in end/side of mcyl, these leak and it runs down pedals etc,

Good point.....the hydraulically operated brake light pressure switches do leak occasionally so definitely worth checking.

Have same problem on our Komet. A couple of days after I last used it noticed a drip of fliud on carpet behind pedals. This has run down to low point of floor about 8 inchs long. Not a great amount of fliud. Cleaned up and test pedals over a few hours but no further leak has appeared yet. Fliud level is also okay. Plan to take it round the block today to see if leaks again. Certain it will be the clutch cylinder as this is just mounted behind the pedals. Changed this on my Autosleeper and is easy job. Difficulty will be in releasing bleed nipple on clutch master cylinder on top of engine.
