ej22 Running a bit rich

hi all

I completed an ej22 conversion a few months ago, Everything is working fine and it runs smoothly. The only problem I have is that it is running rich as you can smell it and the mot came back with an O2 reading of 1.90% where my mates reading was only 0.46 when the engine was in his bus.

I have got a spare MAF which I will try when I get back from work on tuesday but my other concern is weather or not it could be the O2 sensor in the exhaust isnt picking up properly.

Any advice etc would be great

Thanks

scoobies run rich during warm up before the lambda kicks in at full working temp and do the same if lambda is failed.
the cheap £20 ones work I found, the ECU isn't as fussy as VW Digifant which must have the correct signal wave form or it stops listening

Thanks for reply, it's still running rich after a good run. Yea spose il have to try and replace the lamba sensor. Is there any way of testing them. Would the maf cause it to run rich or would it just run badly.

Just realised, I take it this is Aidan Talbot. I got a quote from you a few months ago to re gear my gearbox. I couldn't find the bloody code as caked in that much "pooh" and then forgot about it. Saying that I have decided to use your services when I get my much needed bonus in the new year.

Aidan Talbot even

you can test them if you can find a way to measure the signal wire voltage - I drilled a hole in the connector that would allow me to get multimeter probe against pin, chassis earth as -'ve
