help on putting head back on

hi took the head off my 1900cc df engine with engine in situ and went to put it back on and broke a piston ring is there a way of putting it back on with the engine still in situ :evil:

Sorry to hear that

I have not done it in situ but I have read of others who have, getting all to align when gravity is not on your side is difficult I imagine

Did you slide the liners off the pistons? Its not necessary to do that the gudgeon pins will come off with the liners still on the pistons which helps protect the rings

I'm sure somebody will be along with some more help soon

at least it can be done then will get rings tomorrow and try again cheers anyway

Before you rush in I think you need to glaze bust the liners or the new rings won't seal
I know you have a pressing mot but I'm sure you don't want to have to do this again
