Hi all
We've just got a lovely blue tin top
It's great very slow but the speed isn't important

It's a 1.7d 5speed there is one fault that's bothering me
When I pull away in 1st or 2nd there is a grinding noise that gets worst if on a hill
It all so makes the same noise but not as loud
When you down shift
Iv got a mate who knows vw and he says it's a clutch issue
Then some one else has a look and say poss clutch
Poss spigot and first motion shaft
Poss gearbox
Then offered me some advice and things to check

Does any one have any idea as to what it may be

firstly, I think you need to speak to Aidan our gear box guru. He will tell you if its box related

send him a pm - or he may be along on here in a little while - what he doesn't know about the manual t25 box just isn't worth knowing!!

When you say pulling away....is it as you raise the clutch....its not happening while driving?
