Looking at the Doka and the lack of power steering.

Can't find a RHD rack (Hint Hint anybody)

So we're considering other alternatives atm, one option is the Corsa 'C' set up. Read quite a bit about them over the weekend.
I wonder if the set up will be man enough for the Syncro.
What are your thoughts? Are there any Syncros with the set up fitted?

Morning Pete. I found another rhd mid-80's rack from the source we know about for 70 quid on ebay, i think there may have been another. So now I can make up 2 carrier brackets etc. before Neils arms get tired...

I have the Corsa set up on my Camper, Doka and fitted it to the blue panel van before i sold it. lee also has it on his camper.

They are made and fitted by a mate of Lee's called Roger Hicks. He has a business developing custom power steering set ups for rally cars.

The set up works really well. It can be switched off all together and also has a variable resistance feature so you can just turn the switch to increase or decrease its effectiveness, just like a dimmer in a light switch.

I wouldn't want a van without one now that I have got used to it.

I had epas on a 2wd bus, one of Ultimate Engineering's early kits, it was ok and worked exactly as claimed but for a "sporty" bus it was limited by the number of turns on the manual rack i.e. still a wheel-twirler.
I was also not happy about the amount of force you could potentially apply through the donut joints and the mechanical rack thanks to the electric column, as distinct from the OEM system. I found a pukka power rack kit in the end and sold the epas.
On a syncro none of the above may apply. I prefer hydraulic, its more robust.

I've driven loads, to be honest I can see the attraction but I personally find them too light, like driving around on wet leaves on a cobbled street.
Scary on corners as you have zero feedback and you can't tell if your sliding or not.
Horses for courses.

the beauty of Rogers EPAS system is off for off road, motorways etc, on for parking or anywhere in between.

Went on a quick breaker hunt this afternoon and results are all of the corsa 'B' power steering setups have gone, the 'C' are still available.
Interesting, apparently the 'B' system are taken for kit cars.

The 'C' system appears to be interesting to remove it though. Further research, possibly suggests 'C' system with adjustable tone down kit. And then Richard Jones has speed sensor? available?

Again another interesting point, dam near every Syncro on the road has been subject to an alteration that is not stock. So if a power steering alteration is declared to insurance then ...

Roger has just designed the eps system for the new radical race car. Pretty much every company is now useing them. If you want a std vehicle then there not going to be for you.

What is the experience like off road?
With a non power steering set up, hit a rock and the steering potentially whips out of your hands.
With standard power steering, hit a rock and it tries to whip away but the driver does have more control.
That is in our experience though.

So how does the epas system respond to rock hitting, steering wheel whipping, off road?
