				Major oil leak!

Just set off from berwick on way home from hols. Up to about 50mph on A1 when oil light starts flashing and buzzer of doom sounds! Pulled straight over, there was a spray of oil on bikes on bikes rack. Looked under van to see what looks to be all the engine oil pouring onto the road! Had a new turbo fitted less than two weeks ago could a fault with that cause so much oil to leak out?
Breakdown unable to fix/ assess properly due to all tin work under engine so awaiting tow truck home!
Cheers

if new flexi return pipe not fitted with turbo it may have perished and if a new one was fitted may not not have been fitted correctly, got to hope that whoever did the work is covered as lack of oil could have shagged new turbo as well as engine potentially
safe home, good luck

				Thanks Aidan.
Brand new feed and return pipes were fitted at garage. Engine refurbed 8 months ago so hopefully it won't be that serious!!

Might be a stupid question this but is there anyway of seeing the turbo/connections without removing all the tinware etc? Could I hang a camera down somewhere to get a shot?
Cheers

I've attached a picture of where the return feed connects back to the sump(?) from the turbo. Does that look right? Should the pipe be round where it connects?
Cheers

can't make anything out from that, take the tinware off it's only 20 mins filthy work and it'll have to come off to fix whatever the problem is - and it'll probably become apparant what has gone wrong, even if not obvious now, if you top up the oil and start the engine

Do you know if the garage fitted the support to the new feed pipe, if not the pipe can fatigue crack in a very short time, don't ask me how I know

				Phil,
The rigid feed pipe from the bottom of the oil filter to the turbo looks fine but didn't notice a support on it. I'll check later!
Thanks.

Just so I fully understand, other than a fault with the feed or return pipes and their connections is there any other way a turbo could cause an engine to discharge most of its oil in a few miles?
Apologies if this is another daft question!
Thanks.
