Dipstick Length. JX

Hello all, i'm not sure if this should be in the other engines forum, its JX related but feel free to move the post.
Could any one advise on the following?
Is the dipstick from an AAZ engine a wee bit shorter than the standard JX dipstick?
Also when putting oil in a newly rebuilt engine would you advise on putting little more than the specified 4.5 litres?
Thanks,
Rob.

On mine with 4.5 litres it's just showing on the bottom of the stick by 3 possibly 4mm. If it's topped up to the minimum on the jx dipstick it's almost 5 litres, too much. As far as I'm aware the aaz block is taller that the jx.

Hi Rob, don't over fill any engine...the possibility of the crank shaft hitting the oil and causing it to froth..you don't want air in the oil!!.
How is it going, and how are your nerves.
It allways takes me a few days to belive that my last bit of work on the van is ok!.

When going from a CS to a 1Y I had a bit welded onto the end of the dipstick, marked it at 3.5 litres for the low oil mark and 4.5 for the high oil mark. Temporary solution until then was a bass guitar string!

Thanks guys, I'm gonna drain the oil put exactly 4.5l back remove dipstick and mark off.
Nerves were a bit frayed last weekend, but all seems well, only drove a few km's so far.
Gonna try a longer drive tomorrow. Still got leaky leak off pipes.
Cracking idea to use the bass guitar string, I hope it wasn't a double bass string!
Thanks again
