I've got one from Avtex. It needs power from the 12v supply but it works perfectly. Having said that Its for my Avtex TV which is also brill but it should work with any.

this one works for me
http://www.towsure.com/product/Avtex_ST ... _TV_Aerial" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I hammer a wind break pole in and then attach tent poles to what ever height needed, power adapter attaches to the aerial at the tv end so only one wire outside

Mine has a sucker that can sit on the roof and also a clamp that I attach to the roof rack. Either way it works a treat. Sometimes I don't get a signal but I either turn the bus round or move the aerial and it picks up dozens. I don't have the model number. There's just the voltage range for the power supply on it. It's in a figure 8. Looking at the Avtex page it looks like the STH 1000. It's the digital one. They are not cheap but even in the most remote areas I've got a signal for all the stations you'll need.

I went for the 18.5" TV but this is a bit big. The 16" is plenty big enough and is cheaper and uses less power. I use a folding 45w solar panel which keeps up with it even on a dull day. So there's no need to run the engine. I used to use a 240v inverter with a 14" tv and the leisure battery used to implode after a half hour. I want to fit a solar panel more permanently but that's for another day.

I'll echo the recommendations for the Avtex aerial, the suction mount works really well and I've not needed to move the van for a signal yet - stuck to a window it works inside the van too :ok

Do check the amps of the coolbox though, mine would drain the leisure battery in about three hours if I used it to supply the power.

Yeah you could be right maybe I,m expecting too much might hook the coolbox to the main battery whilst travelling and let the freeze boards take over while parked up.Cheers for everyones advice can't wait for my next weekend away.Regards bob

It will say on a sticker on the back of the set. Likely be in "Watts" though, if it is, just divide by 12 and you will get a fairly accurate rating in amps. My 19" set (different make) uses 2.5 amps.

Just to through this one in the mix aswell, it was recommended by several on here and has never let us down yet-even when others havent managed to get a signal, comes with window sucker and several options for mounting. :ok

Thanks john just had a look and it is 5 amp/60 watts so should be no problem for the leisure battery on a daily basis
