Hello,

just a quick question I hope, I have fitted new rear suspension to my bus very successfully but....... the front suspension has caused more of a problem, specifically that the bottom bolt 22mm bolt (connects the shock absorber to the trailing arm(think thats what its called) wont budge even after a long bar and some release liquid! I intend on just chopping and breaking the bolt but before that I would like to purchase 2 replacement bolts can anyone tell me what the spec of these bolts are for example length and tensile strength i know these were a problem when I replaced them last

I know they can be bought from brickwerks but I have a local company who I prefer to use as i don't have to pay shipping etc

M14 X 1.5 X 110

M14x110mm, 1.5mm metric fine thread, standard 8.8 tensile strength.

thanks for the replies guys, i know the spec says a 1.5mm thread but would it make a difference if i used a standard 2.0 thread as long as the nut was the correct type? sorry if thats a silly question?

also I assume it wouldnt be a problem to use a slightly higher rated tensile strength?

You could do as long as you used a good locking nut, fine threads are more resistant to coming undone from vibration.

thanks herb just got 2 stainless steel ones with matching nyloc nuts instead, didnt realise the finer threads were less prone to wriggling loose thats probably why i cant get the buggers off now!!!
