fuel pump problem, and leaking passenger door.

Help required yet again !!

Seems to be the norm now my van is on the road.

The fuel pump to my 2 litre Aircooled leaks ever so slightly when the engine is running. I have checked out the connections and the pipes seem ok. As far as I can see it is weeping from the pump itself. Is there a service kit on the market, as the pump itself appears to be out of production.
Has anybody got any ideas. Also has anybody converted their mechanical pump to an electric one. Is it easy to do, how much, and where are they sourced.

Also I have a leak from the front passenger door. The water is leaking onto the wheel arch area inside the cab, and then runs down into the step and foot well. I have recently had new seals fitted. The only place I think it may be coming in is via the window scrapers, and then into the door!

Thats all folks

re Fuel Pump - hens teeth to get hold of - might get a good used from somewhere - I did a lecky conversion - used a Facet - model number 40105 from here - get the kit so fitting is easy - you might need a length of new fuel hose from a local Motor Factor - mount it down near the tank after the filter.

Cheers Cumbriankeith,

What did you have to do with the old pump. Have you left it in situ, or have you blanked it off. If so where do you source the parts from?

Thanks

I left the old pump (and pushrod) off and blanked the hole with a bit of sheet steel and a gasket and some gasket gunge - no point in carting more weight around than I do already!
