Fablon ?
On a roll.
Looks nasty ?
You don't mean that do you.................
What about varnishing the plywood.
Like they did years ago on yachts.

What's wrong with Fablon? Here's the before & after of what Fablon can do.

You can get some very nice textured Vinyl finishes.
http://www.vinyldepot.co.uk/5-wood" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or Formica/Melamine laminate sheet.

I just used the vinyl as supplied. I did it three years ago, and apart from a few scratches caused by mountain bikes etc being chucked in, the vinyl has stood up pretty well and stayed stuck on.

Nothings "wrong" with Fablon itself.
Just that I always see it peeling off or having been put on creased.
That's why i formed the opinion that it was not ideal.
Doesnt seem that durable because of the above.
Your pics look OK.
Maybe it depends how its been applied, or maybe there are different types of Fablon.

Perhaps some people still perceive this material as a '70's product

But I did mine with a Fablon type product and 2 years on, still looks nice

I used the light oak vinyl from vinyl depot it sticks very well if the wood is painted/varnished smooth first.
