two body work questions !

Hi again yes its the question asker of old London town asking yet another question !
As mentioned in earlier posts I have purchased new van, today I had a proper play with the van (body work wise)
To the questions !
1. The water in the footwell was back as its been raining (very heavily) lifted rubber mats so its drying with news paper etc, had a good look at the windscreen seals/area and there are a few spots of rust picked one and it turned into a hole 50p sized (vactan applied) there are a few other scabs and Im guessing if I pick them they will also turn into holes, hence the water leaking in (dripping). To rectify this what sort of cost/work needs to be done ?
New rubber seal and if possible welding or new rubber seal and new upper nose panel ? obviously panel and seal is going to cost roughly £200 plus labour etc or just DIY with vactan and filler ? but it will come back !!!
Now an easier and nice question !
2. All the sills /under wheel arches /steps /floor pan are completely rust free and I would like to keep it this way !
Whats best to keep it this way ? Vactan as a precaution ? then brush on
Waxoyl or
Underbody Seal spraying is not really an option for me (shared driveway )
Many thanks in advance
ps the van has a tarp over the front to stop rain getting in !

ahhh. you will find there is nothing left behind the seal on the corners,and probably not much in the middle, youve seen some of the ones ive done, so whilst when its just going you can get away with adding a bit, i fear that its gone too far here, if you cut the screen rubber off and pop the window you are then commited and it will be more than a quick repair,
vactan is not of much use in this situation, cosmetically you can load it with filler till such time as you can do it/get it done corrrectly, couple of hundred for the panal and parts, then dash out and rebuild the lot behind it...
well you did ask

Front windscreen panel repair cost quote Help ?

I had a quote today for the bodyshop guy that is next to my mechanic, rain water keeps coming in from bottom seal of windscreen lost of rust bubbles and one hole ( I have posted before)
https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=123111" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I would have to buy the front upper panel £120 from cool air (left hand drive) and the windscreen seal from VW Heritage
http://www.vwheritage.com/vw_spares_Sea ... tartPage=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Total cost for both parts £160
The body shop quoted £300 to weld in new front panel/paint so total is £460 ish
Don't really want to spend the money but I have no other options...that I know of ? Does this sound reasonable price wise ?
Id rather patch up save the money for another day but I fear its to late for that !
Many thanks in advance

I think I paid about £240ish for mine, included repair panel, seal and labour, but I think that was using a repair panel rather than full panel.
\Being based in London might make a difference to the price, you need to move oop north.
Can a repair panel be used on yours? Alan schofields sell them.
