i need a carb needle?

Can ANYONE help? I have a sticky carbneedle and not 100% that carb cleaner will do the trick long term, basically, the needle is sticking preventing the float from shutting off the fuel and its overfuelling and cutting the engine, usually at roundabouts, junctions or just about anywhere else, been on GSF, VeeWee, and vw heritage, and from what i can see in the vw heritage carb kit the needle looks different from the one inside my carbs, dont wanna shell out £40 for a carb kit for it to be the wrong one, even called vw heritage and they said it 'should' be the right one even though it looks different from mine, any ideas anybody??

You may have a pierburg from a different vehicle fitted
Check if it looks exactly like these pics if so then I reccomend a brickwerks rebuild kit may be a bit more but they know there stuff I fitted one as in some of the pics

Its a Pierburg on a DG, it doesnt say if its a 2e3/2e4 as it just says '2E' on the carb body, will have a look on the link you posted 'vanisveryrusty'

I had the identical problem to yours and I bought an overhaul kit from Brickwerks for about 40 quid [Pierburg 2e3]
Not only did it cure the primary problem, but the carb now -thanks to Kev the rev for his help too - works properly now it also has had all the other gaskets etc fitted. 40 quid very well spent

Brickwerks do two kits as the accelerator pump varies
If the needle valve has gone chances are the other seals gaskets and membranes are also knackered
Get a pic up of your carb before buying and we can tell you what it is

Yep, sorry I forgot to mention that
IIRC, the replacement needle valve on my carb looked completely different too, but it all went in ok and worked fine.

OK looks like an early T3 2E3 but to be sure look on the side, the number should be 025 129 015 A suffix is 82-85
H and J suffix is 85-87 ( different acc pumps)
this diagram of a 2E3 shows your type of needle and looks the same on the 2E2 diagram in the same book so maybe early carbs have the 2E2 needle. It appears that the rebuild kits available from brickwerks are for the later model you could email them and see if they ca get the kit for the a sufix carb
