So following a link someone posted from the overland adventure show, a came across this...

http://ouropenroad.com/

Seem thay have been out for 10 months travelling in their westy.
Not sure if its a Syncro, cant see the badge for jerry cans, better look out for the filler cap.

Loving the videos, even put Jeds to shame.

See it can be done :D

Cheers
Rich

Yeh they make some pretty good videos. We have been following them since they started their trip, loads of people out there doing cool stuff in their vehicles right now.

I only read the first paragraph before I felt as though I had wasted most of my life...

he grew up in a school bus and is an artist,he then lived in the woods in a shed built by mom and dad...he's fluent in adventure and finds inspiaration in wanderlust

his wife is a fashion designer and a epic camp chef.

whilst me....

I was born in a council house ...and 44 years later live within the same 10 mile circumference...I work 50 hrs a week in a factory and am fluent in bullsh1t....I don't know what wanderlust is.

my wife works in an office for the police...and hates cooking when were out in the van.

we might drive to Devon in the van week after next...unless its cold.

im sure deep down were all the same

I was talking about something like this at the weekend with a couple of van owners. All this talk of when a VC should kick in and how some fellas VC is slow and another fellas is fast, bash plate this and winch mount that etc means absolutely nothing.

Go somewhere instead :idea

Oh boy, I love/hate stuff like this. I love that they are out there living the life and hate the fact that the wife and I have slogged our guts out for a decade and a half, taken some big risks on the way and now have a good income but still don't seem to be even close to being able to do this sort of thing!

I always think "am I missing something"!! how do they pay for it? I am sure I will find out as I read more.

One day,.......... one day

I hope he doesnt mind me saying, but our very own Hotpod had a very similar early start with his wife and young family if I remember the story told during his television debut properly?

now, back to that blog...

where Hotpod went wrong was by trying to make a go of normal business, mortgage etc.
now he has two syncros off the road and has a mk11 caddy as a runaround ( which is quite ace until you get one front wheel on something slippery then its pants!)
rest assured, as he is now living in a shed again ( with the mrs, the boys have the house) he is getting back on track for a bit more carefree lifestyle with some van adventures thrown in.
soon
ish

Hah! I remember thinking during your tv show that mrs Hotpod was very understanding?! I cant see mrs Guzzi putting up with that sort of thing...

Although for a period just after we were married, in our first flat, we had two motorbikes In the lounge!
